Casual language practice

A short AI conversation can give you a reason to write or say a few sentences in another language. Start with a familiar topic and ask for a level you can follow. NariYume can be one part of casual practice; it does not certify your level or replace a teacher.

Choose a small task

  • Introduce yourself without using private details.
  • Describe a meal or a film in two sentences.
  • Practice ordering a drink and asking one follow-up question.
  • Explain a weekend plan using vocabulary you already know.

Ask for useful feedback

Be specific about the kind of help you want. “Correct one important mistake after I finish” is different from “Explain every sentence in English.” Choose a format that leaves time for you to speak or write.

For a phrase you need to use in a consequential setting, check a dictionary, course or qualified speaker. An AI response can confidently give an incorrect explanation.

Move from text to voice

You can type a sentence first, read the reply and then try a short call when speaking is convenient. Use headphones if they make it easier to hear.

Speech recognition can confuse names or pronunciation. If the response follows a different word, spell it out or return to text. This is a practice activity, not a treatment for speaking anxiety.

Keep the goal modest

A useful goal might be to ask one question, describe one event or finish a brief exchange. You can repeat the topic with different wording rather than chasing a longer session.

See the language guide for the app’s supported interface languages and the difference between interface support and spoken accuracy.
