Safety & Crisis Protocol

Last updated: June 2026. Published in line with California SB-243 (Companion Chatbots).

NariYume's characters are generative AI for companionship and entertainment — they are not real people, not therapists, and not a crisis service. This page describes the safeguards we maintain.

If you're in crisis right now

If you are thinking about harming yourself or are in immediate danger, please reach out — it's free, confidential, and available any time:

Our self-harm & suicide protocol

We maintain a protocol to prevent the chatbot from producing suicidal-ideation or self-harm content, and to refer users who express such thoughts to crisis services:

AI disclosure

NariYume's characters are clearly identified as AI and will tell you so if asked. They are not human and do not have real-world history.

Reporting & blocking

We have zero tolerance for objectionable, abusive, or harmful content. You can report content and block other users directly from within the app. We review every report and remove violating content and/or eject abusive users, typically within 24 hours.

Minors

NariYume asks your age. Users below our minimum age are blocked. For users we know to be minors, we disclose the AI nature of the experience, show a periodic reminder to take a break (at least every three hours of continued use), note that companion chatbots may not be suitable for all minors, and disable romantic or sexually explicit content.
